Sensata wins Overijssel Innovation Award

Northrop Grumman honors Sensata with platinum supplier award

Sensata Technologies is among an elite corps of suppliers to earn Northrop Grumman Corporation’s top award for quality, delivery, and meeting key Northrop Grumman goals.

The company received Northrop Grumman’s Platinum Source Preferred Award on June 27, 2006 for a Sensata Precision Products probe thermostat that Northrop Grumman installs in certain advanced–technology aircraft systems.

Northrop Grumman, a global defense company headquartered in Los Angeles, presented Platinum Source Preferred awards to only 23 (about 2%) of its Integrated Systems Sector’s more than 1,100 suppliers.

The award is presented to firms that meet rigorous requirements for quality, on–time delivery, customer satisfaction, and for making manufacturing improvements and achieving cost–reduction goals. To qualify, a supplier had to score more than 90% in each area in every quarter of 2005.

According to Chris Oumedian (right), field sales representative for Sensata, “U.S. Air Force Major Jocelyn Swayze delivered a moving speech about Northrop Grumman products from the end–customer perspective. She emphasized the importance of quality and on–time delivery from suppliers.

“Major Swayze recently returned from six months of active duty in Iraq, so obviously she truly knows how critical it is that Northrop Grumman products perform flawlessly in war–torn areas.”
